4/21/2009: Band

So due to the WASL schedule the order and times of all the class are messed up, so unfortunately the band teacher couldn't make it. I had talked to him and that morning and it was decided that I would run things. Doing basic directing things such as the hand motions and reading a full score is easy for me. I can also identify various mistakes and make necessary corrections. In the back people got into fights and pushed each other over. The percussion was playing snares with their hands and really loud at that. Some sections had people who didnt take their instruments out. Bottom line, as fun as directing is it was really irritating.

4/13/2009: Blow gun

So during break Aidan and I got bored so we took nerf darts and PVC pipe and lauched darts at each other. They hurt. A little later today I got bored so I decided to trick out my blow gun. I added a scope, a stand, and a laser sight.

4/12/2009: Trumpet

Today I got to play my trumpet in church. Since it was Easter Sunday the brass played. It was really fun because the music was easy. The only difficult part was that the beginning entrance was spaced out. The tuba would come in then the trombone, etc. each a beat or two after the other one. Since it was a small brass ensemble, each instrument had it's own part. It was really cool since each of us got to play our own part, and together it sounded really nice. I also got to play on the trap set for a little, that's always fun. I taught my little sister a bit too.

4/10/2009: Trumpet

So today I woke up and after updating my facebook i checked my school email. I had emailed my band teacher because I was playing my trumpet on Easter Sunday at church. I was just asking for a little last minute advice"

CONGRATULATIONS!

First, pray to God that you will be calm enough to play for Him at the best of your ability.

Second, play your part for your family. If you can play for them as a solo, you can play for your church in a group!

Third, do you know your part really well?

Other than that, don't sweat the small stuff. We are all human and we all make mistakes. God knows your intent to play for him. He is happy that you're willing to step out on faith and play for Him. We do our best and he'll do the rest.

4/10/2009: Blow gun

So on Tuesday my mom was doing a karate class and my sister and I had to wait outside while she finished. Long story short, we got to go to the sensei's house with his kids. We jumped on their trampoline for a bit b4 my sister gave me a bloody nose. Aidan became addicted to the "tiki-men game" (pocket god on the ipod-touch). The next they my mom took us all to the flight museum. We got to play around for a bit but we also got to go in the sims. These flight sims go upside-down and roll over and everything.

Anyways after that my sister went to Cami's house while Aidan stayed here. While we were in the garage looking for something cool to blow-up or build I thought of an idea. I found a few PVC pipes. These were light-weight, plastic and about 2ft long and 1/2in in diameter. I also had a bunch of old nerf gun darts. With a nerf-gun, these darts can't go more than 15ft. Well, these blow pipes were a different story. If you stick a dart into the pipe, and then blow correctly, the dart could shoot further up than the eye could see. Getting hit from a distance of 15ft in the leg even hurts. So you could imagine the hours we spent outside hiding and launching these things at each other. after that we went back to my room and watched a bunch of NCIS bc Aidan isn't allowed to watch house. As to what chelsea and cami were doing, I don't have a clue.

4/5/2009: Bowling

There was way too much bowling today. Since it was the first Sunday of the month I had to get up early and go to PSTL. I couldn't get a decent line so I picked up the 6 the 10 or the 6, 10 on almost all my shots. My little sis bowled a 194. Anyways after that I went home for a while and made a little cash mowing the lawn. After that I went bowling with my dad and invited a few friends. Jaymi and I bowled 3 games, then Brittany and I bowled one before Stewart and his sister showed up, then we bowled one last game, and my dad managed to go through the entire time without singing poker face.

4/3/2009: Same Old, Same old

For the past week I have been ACCIDENTALY upseting my math teacher. She was getting an observation by the principal so she birbed us all with ice cream to behave. At first as I was walking into the room I said i forgot my packet (which is like rly important) then said april fools. Unfortuanatly I forgot my packet the next day but she didn't really care for some reason. Lasher usually has her own unique way of teaching new concepts but when she was being observed she taught totally different. I mentioned to Tim that i knew what he did wrong, and then she made me go up in front of the class and explain it. On my way back down I was like "u owe my double ice cream".

Anyways if you havent heard my earlier complaints our locker room used to be a pile of ply-wood. Now we have brand new locker rooms, (so I now have 4 lockers around the school). They are really nice but kinda creepy at the same time. There is a PE office with a window at one side. The lockers in the middle are only 3 feet tall so teachers can observe whats going on. I just find that a little creepy. Anyways they also added another gym and weight room, which is really nice too. I was talking about my old gymnastics experience, and someone didn't believe it so I had to do a round-off and a cartwheel. I also was gonna walk on my hands but slammed into a wall.
